History of our Department

All majors and the Department itself are characterized by high acceptance rate and relevance not only in the RSREU, but also among other Ryazan universities. Over the years, the Department was headed by:

Vladimir Ivanovich Troshin, Candidate of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Associate professor (1964–1965).

Georgiy Onozyevich Palamaryuk, Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science, Associate professor (1966-1968).

Vladimir Sergeevich Bogdanov, Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science, Associate professor (1968–1975).

Leonid Pavlovich Korichnev, Doctor of Sciences in Engineering Science, Professor (1975-2004).

Aleksandr Nikolaevich Pylkin, Doctor of Sciences in Engineering Science, Professor (2004–2019).

Gennady Vladimirovich Ovechkin, Doctor of Sciences in Engineering Science, Professor (2019 to the present).

The Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics was founded in 1964 as a complex center for training of specialists in the field of programming and the use of hardware. In 1989, the Department became a Degree-granting Department and began training programming engineers with the specialty «Software for computing machinery and automated systems». The main scientific area of the Department is the development of software and hardware support for geographically distributed computing systems. The Department employs highly qualified specialists, including 9 Doctors of Sciences and 21 Candidates of Sciences.

Since 1987, the City School of high-schooler programmers has been functioning in our Department.

In 2007, on the basis of our Department, a joint Training Center of RSREU and EPAM was opened. It trains senior students in the following areas: NET Developer, JAVA Developer, Basics of Business Analysis, Testing and Quality Assurance of Information Systems. The Department provides the educational process for full-time and part-time bachelor’s degree students and full-time master’s degree students. Training courses and disciplines are supported by modern software and hardware, united in five local area networks and forming a specialized segment of the corporate network of the university (more than 130 personal computers with Internet access are used in the educational process); 3 specialized multifunctional classrooms are used, including projection equipment, interactive whiteboards, document camera).

We prepare bachelor’s and master’s degree students in the following majors:

Bachelor’s degree 09.03.04 – «Software Engineering»
09.03.03 – «Applied Informatics»
Master’s degree 09.04.04 – «Software Engineering»
09.04.03 – «Applied Informatics»

We actively cooperate with well-known enterprises and companies, including:
