The Department of Electronic Devices was founded in 1954 as the only Degree-granting department at the Faculty of Electronics. The first head was Sergey Afanasyevich Suslonov. Currently, the Department is headed by Mikhail Viktorovich Chirkin, Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Professor, Honorary Worker of Russian Higher Professional Education.

Department’s personnel:
Department graduates bachelors with specialty 11.03.04 «Electronics and nanoelectronics» (educational program «Electronic devices and devices») and masters with specialty 11.04.04 «Electronics and nanoelectronics» (educational program «Electronic equipment and devices»).
We have agreements on mutual cooperation with Federal State Unitary Enterprise Research and production corporation «Istok» (Fryazino city, Moscow Region), the Department of Quantum Radiophysics of the Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), AO (JSC) Ryazan Radio Plant (Ryazan), AO (JSC) Ramensk Instrument-Making Plant (Moscow region) for training specialists and carrying out research work in the field of microwave and optical electronics.
The volume of scientific work carried out by the Department of Electronic Devices in 2014 exceeded 11 million rubles.
