The Department of General and Experimental Physics was founded in 1952. Former Heads of our Department: V.P. Kardash. (1952-1956), A.N. Tekuchev (1956-1974), V.I. Pugnin (1974-1980), G.V. Melekhin (1980), V.I. Kadushkin (1980-1983), E.P. Sheretov (1983-2006), B.I. Kolotilin (2006-2011).

The Department employs 14 full-time teachers, 10 Candidates of Sciences and 2 Doctors of Sciences.

The main Department's discipline is «Physics». Classes are held in accordance with full-time, part-time and extramural training programs for bachelors and specialists. Moreover, our Department conducts a number of disciplines with schoolers in RSREU Physics and Mathematics School and RSREU preparatory courses.
