Head of Department: Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Associate professor Vladimir Georgievich Litvinov
Deputy Head of Department: Candidate of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Associate professor Vladislav Gennadevich Mishustin
There are Bachelor's degree program with specialty 11.03.04 «Electronics and nanoelectronics» and Master's degree program with specialty 11.04.04 «Electronics and nanoelectronics» in the Department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics. Head of the educational program is Tatiana Andreevna Holomina.
Our Department prepares postgraduate students with specialty 03.06.01 «Physics and Astronomy» on major professional academic program «Semiconductor Physics» for highly qualified scientific personnel training.
We have educational laboratories for electrophysical research of semiconductor devices, physics of semiconductor devices and microelectronics, MIS-structures, thin films, technologies and materials. There is Department's Media classroom equipped with modern PCs. For several years our Department has consistently taken the first place and has been awarded based on results of the University ranking according to educational, scientific, methodological and academic achievements.
The research area «Micro- and Nanoelectronics» is headed by the Honored scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Professor S.P. Vikhrov. This research area is associated with the study of nanostructures of disordered systems, amorphous and nanocrystalline silicon, diagnostics of nano lenses.
The scientific school of disordered semiconductors and their application which was formed in the late 1960s is one of the leading scientific fields in Russia. Then in the early 1970s, Professor P.T. Oreshkin founded another scientific school in the field of micro- and nanoelectronics. He created a new theory of Deep Level Transient Spectroscopy (DLTS). It gave an impetus to DLTS spectrometer invention.
In our Department the Regional Center for Collective Use of Probe Microscopy equipped with the most modern analytical equipment was founded. And it is still functioning today. Our employees work in this research area and have published over 450 scientific articles and received more than 20 patents. The results of research and development were introduced into manufacturing.
Measurement complexes manufactured by the order of a number of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg enterprises were handled over to customers for implementation in technological processes.
The Industrial laboratory of thin films physics and technology was created on the basis of the Ryazan Research and Technology Institute. Significant theoretical and experimental results which have wide implementation have been achieved in the study of relaxation phenomena in electrets.
Our Department undertakes research on inter-disciplinary subjects: Medicine, Biology, Instrument-making, Electronics, Micro- and Nanotechnologies. We are developing «Biomedic equipment» scientific direction in the Department. It involves the development of biomedical equipment. This scientific direction is headed by Doctor of Sciences in Engineering science, Professor Anatoliy Aleksandrovich Mikheev.
Moreover we create computer devices for cardiovascular and nervous systems diagnostics, and perform research in the field of wireless transmission of biomedical information. Our Department develops and studies the application of neural network technologies in the design of i-probes and transducers for receiving and converting the time-frequency parameters of biosignals with their implementation on a modern microprocessor element base, including FPGAs.
Department’s research team is the grant winner from the Ministry of Education and Science in the field of fundamental research and works within the programs «Intellectual Property of Higher Education» and «Scientific Research of Higher Education in Priority Areas of Science and Technology». Our Department is one of the organizers of the All-Russian scientific and technical conference «Physics and technology of amorphous and nanostructured materials and systems» for students, postgraduate students, young scientists and specialists and the annual school-seminar in the research area «Nanomaterials and nanodiagnostics». The ordinary 8th school-seminar was held in September 2017.
The Department actively cooperates with top Russian Universities:
