Faculty of Engineering and Economics
The Academic Council of Ryazan State Radio Engineering Academy established the Faculty of Engineering and Economics on June 25, 1993. The Faculty of Engineering and Economics was created by the Order of the rector of Ryazan State Radio Engineering Academy on July 2, 1993. The Faculty included three departments, two of which were degree-granting ones. These are the Department of Economics, Organization and Planning of Industrial Enterprises and the Department of Economic Theory (now the Department of State, Municipal and Corporate Management). The Department of Life Activity Safety and Ecology conducted the educational process at all faculties of the Academy (currently - the University), as well as two other departments. In 2023, our Faculty celebrated its 30th anniversary!
On September 24, 1993, the Academic Council of the RSREA elected the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics, the head of the Department of Economics, Management and Production Organization, Doctor of Sciences in Economics, Professor Yu.M. Soldak.
Yuri Maksimovich SOLDAK, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics from 1993 to 1998:
- Life has confirmed the correctness and relevance of the decision to establish the Faculty of Engineering and Economics, the departments of which train qualified specialists. Much credit goes to the teaching staff of all our departments. I congratulate the teachers, academic staff and students of the Faculty on the anniversary and wish you active creative work, the preservation and development of the good traditions that have developed at the Faculty!
On December 28, 1998, Doctor of Sciences in Economics, Associate Professor N.V. Kazakova was elected Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics.
Natalia Vasilievna KAZAKOVA, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics from 1998 to 2003:
- 20 years is a time of hopes, creative searches, the joy of communication, the accumulation of professional knowledge and experience, the acquisition of wisdom! I wish the teachers and students prosperity, success in joint effort and scientific activity, health, personal happiness and brilliant achievements in all endeavors!
In 2003, the Dean of the Faculty was appointed Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science, Associate Professor V.A. Fatkin

In the period from 2008 to 2011, Candidate of Sciences in Economics, Associate Professor A.A. Zimin was appointed Dean of our Faculty.
Alexey Aleksandrovich ZIMIN, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics from 2008 to 2011:
- I would like to remember how many people grateful to the faculty staff are now scattered in different cities and countries! Real professionals in their scientific areas work here. Each of the graduates treats the faculty with appreciation and great respect. We, graduates of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics, have always been proud that we were and still are part of the Faculty!
Elena Nikolaevna EVDOKIMOVA, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics from 2011 to 2019:
- For 20 years, the Faculty has changed significantly. The number of departments has increased; the range of areas and specialties in which training is conducted has expanded. The number of students has increased several times, and young teachers are being actively trained. I hope that our Faculty will continue to support the traditions that have formed over a 20-year period in the future. Olga Yurevna GORBOVA, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics from 2019 to the present:
– Today, the Faculty of Engineering and Economics is a team of active and creative students as well as qualified and experienced teaching staff. We implement current areas of training and specialties, hold various events that allow students to develop new skills and abilities, organize meetings with employers and internships. Over all the years of its development, the faculty has acquired not only enormous experience in training in-demand personnel but has also shown its uniqueness due to the fact that we are located in a technical university and this allows us to give students, among other things, knowledge of technical processes and the formation of databases and technologies for making management decisions.
Currently, the development strategy of the Faculty and its departments is aimed at training highly qualified specialists in demand, expanding specializations to solve the problems of enterprises and organizations, as well as better adaptation of young specialists. In addition, the creation of a first-class material and technical base for organizing the educational process, energetic and friendly interaction with all potential consumers of our services, effective training and retraining of personnel, the creation of a original and favorable atmosphere for the scientific and professional growth of our teachers - these are our main goals.
