Our Department is located in the laboratory building of the RSREU The premises of the department are located (coordinates: 54 ° 37 'N, 39 ° 44' E) on the 4th and 5th floors of the laboratory building: There is our Department (teacher’s room) in room 419. The Scientific and Educational Center for Radar and Navigation Signal Processing Technology (SEC RNSPT) at the Department is based in room 416. In total, the Department has 15 educational, scientific and auxiliary premises.

General information about the Department The Department of Radio Engineering Systems conducts training of bachelors, specialists and masters with the specialty «Radio Engineering», as well as contract research and development works on requests of enterprises. We train students of the Military Training Center and postgraduate students with specialty «Radar and radio navigation», «Radio engineering».

All full-time teachers of the Department have academic degrees, including three Doctors of Sciences in Engineering Science.

The Department has 6 laboratories: Radar systems, radio navigation and electronic warfare; Digital signal processing;kosh 2 Television and video equipment; Circuitry of analog electronic devices, etc. The Department has a laboratory base and software tools of radar and satellite radio navigation systems, modeling and development tools for FPGAs.

The main scientific area is the development of methods for increasing the noise immunity and resolution of television and radar systems. Our inventions have been repeatedly demonstrated at International, as well as at many All-Russian and interregional exhibitions. Department’s teachers take part in professional development of the employees of Ryazan enterprises.

History of the Department of Radio Engineering Systems

kosh 3The Department was founded by Sergei Afanasyevich Suslonov (1919-2006) in January 1962 at the Radio Engineering Faculty of Ryazan Radio Engineering Institute (RREI). The initial composition of the Department included Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science S.A. Suslonov, Assistant Professor A.P. Belkin, graduates of RREI, assistants V.P. Lukashov, V.V. Avdeev (later Associate Professor, Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science), N.G. Dukhanin (later Head of the Department, Associate Professor, Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science), L.L. Polosin (later Associate Professor, Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science), Head of laboratory A.E. Bushev, Lab. Instructor L.S. Kuznetsov, Laboratory assistant N.D. Shestakov (later Associate Professor, Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science). For 20 years the Department was headed by S.A. Suslonov. Under his guidance, teachers and graduate students of the Department defended 13 candidate’s dissertations. In 1982-1988 the Department was headed by Associate Professor, Candidate of Sciences in Engineering Science N.G. Dukhanin. In 1988 to 1996 Professor, Doctor of Sciences in Engineering Science V.A. Kazakov was a Head of our Department. From 1997 up to now, the Department is headed by Professor, Doctor of Sciences in Engineering Science V.I. Koshelev.

kosh 4The staff of the Department included veterans of the Great Patriotic War.Among them are the order bearers: Founder of our Department Sergey Afanasyevich Suslonov, who went through the whole war as the commander of the liaison office on the Nevsky Pyatachok (Nevsky Bridge-head); naval officer (submariner), Electrician chief Lev Aleksandrovich Vlasov, who wrote the book "Silence in the compartments" about the epic struggle of the Red Banner submarine S-104 (type "C" IX-bis series, serial number 266) with the kriegsmarine in the waters of the Barents Sea; air navigator of long-range bomber aviation, lieutenant colonel Alexey Efimovich Bushev, who fought on the famous Il-4 (DB-3F) on the Voronezh front.kosh 5
