The Academic Council of Ryazan State Radio Engineering Academy established the Faculty of Engineering and Economics on June 25, 1993. The Faculty of Engineering and Economics was created by the Order of the rector of Ryazan State Radio Engineering Academy on July 2, 1993. The Faculty included three departments, two of which were degree-granting ones. These are the Department of Economics, Organization and Planning of Industrial Enterprises and the Department of Economic Theory (now the Department of State, Municipal and Corporate Management). The Department of Life Activity Safety and Ecology conducted the educational process at all faculties of the Academy (currently - the University), as well as two other departments. In 2023, our Faculty celebrated its 30th anniversary!

Faculty of Radio Engineering and Telecommunication (former Radio Engineering Faculty) was approved by the Order of the Minister of Higher Education of the USSR on January 19, 1952. In the same year, the specialty 0705 “Design and manufacture of radio equipment” was opened at our Faculty.

In 1962 three Degree-granting Departments were organized: Department of Radio Receiving and Radio Transmitting Devices, Department of Radio Engineering Systems and Department of Radio Electronic Devices.

The Faculty was renamed in 2003 and became “Faculty of Radio Engineering and Telecommunication”.

Nowadays the Faculty graduates bachelor’s degree students with specialties 11.03.01 “Radio Engineering” and 11.03.02. “Infocommunication technologies and communication systems”, master’s degree students with specialties 11.04.01 “Radio engineering” and 11.04.02. “Infocommunication technologies and communication systems”, as well as engineers with specialty 11.05.01 “Radio-electronic systems and complexes”.

The Faculty employs 64 teachers, including 6 professors, 8 doctors of sciences in engineering science, 24 associate professors, 37 candidates of sciences in engineering science, 10 “Honorary workers of higher professional education of the Russian Federation”.

The Faculty consists of the following Departments:

• Radio Engineering Systems;
• Wireless Devices;
• Radio Control and Communications;
• Basis of Radio Engineering and Telecommunication;
• Physical Education.

There are postgraduate course education programs in all degree-granting Departments of our Faculty. Moreover, our graduates have the opportunity to improve their qualifications, doing scientific research in the field of fundamental and applied problems of radio engineering.

Along with pedagogic and scientific work, much attention at the Faculty is paid to educational work with students, formation of their scientific worldview and career counseling. The graduates of the Faculty are in-demand employees at the enterprises of the radio-electronic industry.

The faculty has developed social, health-improving and cultural activities of student activists. Students of the Faculty of Radio Engineering and Telecommunication traditionally occupy leading positions in sports competitions held by RSREU.

- What are the rules of registration for foreign students?

- According to the current law students should register within seven days from the day they entered into the Russian Federation.

 

- What should the student do if she/he wants to leave Ryazan, for example, for vacation time?

- If you are going for a trip, whether it is a trip to Moscow for 2 days or a cruise across the Pacific Ocean, you should fill out the application form in the International  students department.

 

- If I live with relatives, should I register at the University?

- It depends upon the situation. But if you arrived from the country with non-visa regime and relatives are ready to register you at home, there is no necessity to register at the University.

 

- What are the rules of entering the university for the students from CIS? May I pretend to the privileges?

- Today all students, except only entering under the directions from the Ministry of Education and Science no matter what nationality they are, have the same entrance tests. There are no special privileges for foreign students.

 

- Should I always keep the documents with me?

- We advise you to keep the documents always with you. You should show your passport and visa in order to exchange money, by a ticket, reserve a room, etc.

 

- What are the preparatory courses and what are they?

- The preparatory courses are a special education program, the duration of which is one academic year (7-10 months). The students learn Russian and special engineering disciplines. It is necessary for successful study in the RSREU.

 

- Is it difficult to study at the preparatory courses?

- The program of the preparatory courses is designed for the ordinary level. The student who attends all classes, completes homework and practical assignments, usually has no difficulties during the study. If the student does not cope with the study at the preparatory courses, he/she can repeat the study in the next academic year. However, the student should pay for it again.

 

- How can I get the invitation for the study in Russia?

- The invitation for the study is an official document, which should be prepared by the Russian Federation Ministry of Internal Affairs. This document confirms that the student has been accepted into the University. This document should be presented to the Russian Embassy to get the visa. In general, the preparation of this document takes about 45 days. This invitation is valid during the 90 days from the release. And during the validity term of the invitation it is necessary to make an application to the Russian embassy requesting issuing of a visa.

 

- What is the migration card?

- The migration card is a document which shows that the student has crossed the border legally. This document is obliged to the student registration. It is impossible to get the registration in the Russian Federation without the migration card. You should save the migration card until you leave the Russian Federation.

 

- What is the registration?

- Registration gives the student the legal right to stay in the Russian Federation during its validity period. Usually the registration period is one year. The registration should be prolonged annually to 2-3 weeks before its expiration. Upon the arrival to the University the student should submit the required documents for the registration within seven days including the day of the arrival. Duration of registration preparation is 10-15 days. The copy of the student's passport should be submitted to the corresponding department. The registration stamp presses on the migration card. To register a passport and visa the passport should be valid for a minimum period of 2 years. It is recommended to update your passport before traveling to Russia for the whole education period.

 

- In what cases the academic leave can be provided?

- The academic leave can be provided for medical reasons (reducing disability due to disorders of the body due to prolonged (more than 2 consecutive months) or frequent illnesses and the need for passage of long-term treatment). It is necessary a medical certificate issued the relevant clinics of the city. But there are some exceptional cases, such as natural disasters, which are also granted the gap year

- Que doit faire un étudiant s'il veut sortir de Riazan, par exemple, en vacances?

- Si vous planifiez le voyage, que ce soit le voyage à Moscou pour 2 jours ou la croisière à l'océan Pacifique, vous devez remplir absolument la demande au Département des étudiants étrangers.

 

 

- Si je vis chez les parents, alors ai-je besoin d'enregistrer à l'université?

- Dans ce cas, la réponse dépend de plusieurs facteurs. Mais si vous venez du pays avec le régime sans visas et les parents sont prêts à vous enregistrer à la maison, il n'est pas nécessaire de le faire à l'Université.

- Quelles sont les règles d'admission pour les étudiants du proche étranger ? Puis-je prétendre à des préférences à l'admission?

- À ce jour, tous les étudiants, en excluant seulement entrant selon les directions du Ministère de l'Education et des Sciences de la Fédération de Russie, quelle que soit la nationalité, passent les examens d'admission identiques. Quelques avantages particuliers pour les candidats étrangers n'existent pas.

 

- S'il faut toujours avoir les documents ?

- Nous conseillons d'avoir toujours les documents. Vous devez présenter votre passeport et le visa pour échanger l'argent, acheter un billet sur le train, réserver une chambre dans un hôtel et pour une série d'autres situations.

 

- Qu'est-ce que c'est la faculté préparatoire et à quoi elle est destinée?

- La faculté préparatoire est un programme d'éducation spéciale pour une période d'une année scolaire (7-10 mois). A la faculté préparatoire des étudiants étudient la langue russe et les disciplines spéciales de génie. C'est nécessaire pour un enseignement réussi sur la spécialité choisie à l'URER.

 

- Est-il difficile d'étudier à la faculté préparatoire?

- Le programme de la faculté préparatoire est conçu pour un niveaux normal de la complexité. Un étudiant qui assiste à toutes les études, accomplit les devoirs pratiques et domestiques, n'éprouve pas d'habitude les difficultés pendant l'enseignement. Si un élève ne vient pas à bout de l'achèvement de la faculté préparatoire il/elle peut répéter la préparation de l'année scolaire suivante. Cependant il faut payer l'enseignement réitéré encore une fois.

 

- Comment puis-je obtenir une invitation à l'étude en Russie?

- L'invitation à l'enseignement est le document officiel qui se prépare par le département des services de passeport et de visa du Ministère des Affaires intérieures de la Fédération de Russie. Elle confirme que l'étudiant est accepté à l'université. Dans l'invitation on indique les données du passeport de l'étudiant et le nom complet de l'université. Il faut présenter ce document à l'ambassade russe pour recevoir le visa. En général, la préparation de l'invitation occupe dans le Ministère des Affaires intérieures environ 45 jours. Cette invitation est valide pour 90 jours à compter de la date de délivrance et dans le délai de validité de l'invitation il faut former une requête à l'ambassade russe avec la demande de la délivrance d'un visa.

- Qu'est-ce que c'est que la carte migratoire ?

- La carte migratoire est un document, qui témoigne que l'étudiant a croisé la frontière de la Fédération de Russie légalement. Elle est un document obligatoire pour l'enregistrement ultérieur de l'étudiant. On ne peut pas régulariser l'enregistrement sur le territoire de la Fédération de Russie sans la carte migratoire, et l'étudiant peut être déporté. La carte migratoire est délivrée directement à l'intersection de la frontière de la Fédération de Russie. Il est très important de garder la carte migratoire jusqu'au départ de la Fédération de Russie.

 

- Qu'est-ce que c'est que l'enregistrement ?

- L'enregistrement donne à l'étudiant étranger le droit légitime de rester sur le territoire de la Fédération de Russie pour la période de l'enregistrement. Habituellement, la période de l'enregistrement dure un an. Il est nécessaire de renouveler l'enregistrement chaque année 2-3 semaines avant le délai de la fin de son action.

À l'arrivée à l'université l'étudiant doit présenter les documents nécessaires pour l'enregistrement pendant 3 jours, y compris le jour de l'arrivée. La durée de la présentation de l'enregistrement fait 10-15 jours. On accorde l'original du passeport de l'étudiant au département correspondant. Le timbre sur l'enregistrement est mis sur la carte migratoire. Pour l'enregistrement du passeport et le visa il est nécessaire que le passeport soit valable pendant la période minimale dans 2 ans. Il est recommandé de renouveler le passeport devant le voyage à la Russie sur la période complète de l'enseignement.

 

- Dans quels cas on peut accorder le congé académique ?

- Pour des raisons médicales (la réduction de la capacité de travail en conséquence des violations des fonctions de l'organisme conditionnées de longue durée (plus de 2 mois de suite) ou les maladies fréquentes et la nécessité du passage du traitement de longue durée). La conclusion de la polyclinique correspondante de la ville est nécessaire. Mais il y a une série de cas exceptionnels, par exemple, les cataclysmes, à qui on accorde aussi le congé académique.
