The Sports Club of RSREU is a subdivision of the Student Union Committee, whose activities are related to the organization and holding of sports events at the university. The largest sports event is the student Spartakiade, which is held annually. Teams of faculties compete in 13 sports in the fight for overall victory.

25 апреля 2014 года в Рязани на площадке бизнес-инкубатора РГРТУ успешно завершилась очередная сессия масштабной акции «Startup поиск 2014», проводящаяся более чем в 10 городах России. Целью проекта является отбор на конкурсной основе и последующая коммерциализация молодежных инновационных проектов, в том числе и на базе технопарков.
