The main task of the department is reference and information service for library readers and consumers of information. Every year, more than 12,000 references of various directions are made for readers and consumers of information: thematic, address-bibliographic and factographic. At the request of the University Departments and Faculties, bibliographic indexes and lists of references are compiled. The bulletin “New accessions at the Scientific Library of the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University” is posted monthly on the library website. Also, the employees of the Department conduct classes on the discipline “Introduction to professional activity” for first-year students. There are analytical catalogues of scientific journals. The electronic card file of articles, which has more than 53,000 entries, is being replenished and edited. Fund of reference and bibliographic publications has about 20,000 documents. The Department includes a hall of catalogs and classified files (office 303 of the laboratory building).

Научно-методический отдел The division was formed in 1976, when the scientific library of the institute was approved by the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education as a methodological center of university libraries in Ryazan. The main tasks of the division: to provide methodological assistance to the university library divisions and libraries of state higher and secondary specialized educational institutions in Ryazan in improving the forms and methods of library and information and bibliographic services, promoting and implementing the recommendations of the Central Library and Information Commission of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The division is engaged in improving the professional level of employees, organizes meetings and seminars on topical problems of library and bibliographic science as well as maintains an electronic file of methodological literature and professional periodicals.

Scientific research and experimental work

Scientific research and experimental work is carried out at the University. 

At the University students are engaged in scientific research work under the guidance of experienced supervisors. Advanced students participate in regional and international scientific conferences and in Annual Student Scientific Conference of the University.

Training and scientific activities are provided by 550 experienced members including professors, assistant professors, D.Sc., PhD, academicians, honorable scientists, the State Prize laureates.

 

The University is equipped with up-to-date academic and research facilities. Educational television, cinema, audiovisual technologies, computer-aided design systems, information technologies, etc., are widely used in academic process. The results of the research and development works conducted at the University are well-known in Russia and abroad.

 

The business-incubator of the University named after V.F.Utkin is a testing ground for innovative projects and promising researches. Scientific center Foton, dealing with problems of remote sensing of the Earth, and Scanning Probe Microscopy Center successfully work within the University.
