The Department provides the following disciplines at all Faculties of the RSREU: descriptive geometry, technical drawing, engineering and computer graphics.
Under the leadership of Ranas Mudarisovich Ganeev (since 2005), the Department became a Degree-granting department in specialties 230203, 230204, 070902 and 070601 and opened postgraduate studies in specialty 17.00.06. Currently, the Department conducts training in the specialty 54.05.03 «Graphics» in full-time and part-time mode of study.
A feature of the specialty is the transformation of information technology into tools of creativity. This in no way diminishes the role of classical visual arts in the educational process. On the contrary, “computer creativity” obliges the student to treat with greater responsibility the knowledge gained during the traditional classes of drawing, painting, sculpture and plastic modeling, plastic anatomy, chromatics and coloristics, design, etc.
On the basis of the Department there is a photo studio, a class of sculpture and plastic anatomy, an art studio, a computer class and a design studio.
After graduation, an animation and computer graphic artist will become a highly qualified specialist in the production of animated films, multimedia, advertising and video clips, computer games, educational systems and simulators. Today this profession is in demand in many media spheres, television and other mass media.
