The first issue of the newspaper "Radist" was published on March 16, 1959. Having your own source of information was a requirement of the time - in 1960s, radio electronics developed rapidly, the need for qualified personnel contributed to the development of new specialties and the search for promising scientific directions. Interested creative youth came to the student environment, as old files of the early 60s tell about.
For some members of the newspaper, amateur journalism has evolved from a hobby into a lifelong profession. Among the former graduates - correspondents of the newspaper "Radist" there are many current production managers, directors of enterprises and bankers. Student photojournalist Georgy Sytnik received an award from Vladimir Putin - the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" for his work in the crisis spots of the planet as an operator of Central Television. Student correspondents were Member of the Gazprom Management Committee V.K. Markov, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science Professor A.N. Pylkin, special correspondent of the First Channel of Central Television Olesya Bondareva, heads of law enforcement agencies and many others.
In 2012, according to the results of the regional journalistic competition "Crystal Crane", the newspaper was recognized as the best corporate print publication in Ryazan region; in 2015 it won in the nomination "Best design solution", and in 2020 it became the first in the nomination "Best work of a specialized mass media" .
Today there is a diverse creative team in the editorial office. The newspaper is created by students of different courses, who are making their first, but confident steps in the field of mass media and mass communications. And it is quite possible that this hobby for many of them will be a solid foundation in their future professional life.
