The student theatre has existed since 2009. In 2011, the Honored Artist of Russia Tatyana Petrova joined it as a director, since then fruitful work has been carried out: every year the theatre recruits new actors from among students, holds weekly rehearsals and shows performances, and in the spring presents premiere stage shows. Last year, the theatre acquired the name "Radiant" - which, as the members of the theatre staff say, means "the place where the stars appear." Among the most striking plays are the dramas “Squaring the Circle”, “Tomorrow was the war”, “Homeward!...”, the comedy “Waiting for Morozov”. Now our actors are working on the comedy “The Festivities” by Chekhov. Moreover, the theatre staff plans to stage a comedy “The Proposal” by Chekhov.

The theatre holds rehearsals 3 times a week, work on each play begins with a creative task - having received a role, actors should think over the fate of their characters, tell how they ended up in these conditions and how they should behave. After that, the actors immediately go on stage - to show their vision of characters: movements, voice and appearance. Then the stage director works with each of the actors individually, guiding them, teaching and showing by example how a trained actor would play. The result of this approach surprises everyone - the audience has repeatedly noted that engineer-students play on stage like professionals.

However, the student theatre consists not only of rehearsals. For a good show, no less professional organization is needed - the selection of music, costumes, stage design, poster design, advertising and promotion of the troupe on social networks, organizing shows in colleges, schools, participating in online competitions. All this is done by one of the actresses - a student of the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University - Angelina Dobrova, who has been the administrator of the theatre staff since 2017.

During its existence, the theatre has participated in numerous competitions and won honorary prizes. One of the most significant is the performance at VGIK (Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. Gerasimov), the annual participation in the Russian Student Spring and in the All-Russian Theatre Festival “Carrousel”. Recently, the troupe became a participant at the online festival “ALTER ART”.
