At the beginning of 2019, as part of the promotion and development of new promising sports, with the support of the Student Union Committee of RSREU, the Department for Educational Work with Students and staff of the University, a concept was developed for organizing recreational sports events using laser tag.

Later, due to increased activity, it was decided to expand this group to a sports section, which would include two directions, airsoft and laser tag. In addition, it was proposed to organize patriotic training.

The Military-Patriotic Club “Varyag” was founded on September 20, 2019. That's the day that the first set of participants was announced. By the end of 2019, the section already consisted of 10 people and there were classes and preparations for the spring games of 2020, however, due to the pandemic, it became possible to make a big statement only in June 2020 at the military-tactical game "Armada" at the military training area Noginsk -2.

Achievements:

• Participation in two military-tactical games of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation: "Armada" and "24-hours on the armor";
• Carrying out the paramilitary sports festival of "Argus" 3.
