Structural Divisions of Scientific Library

The division conducts training of library staff in methods of working with computer equipment and the rules of its operation. It adapts new software designed for use as part of the workstation of library workers, readers and consumers of information. It also implements new information technologies of library work. The reading hall of electronic information provides an opportunity to use the databases of the electronic catalog and card indexes of RSREU, electronic library systems IPRBOOKS, “Lan” and the University Electronic Library. In total, there is access to more than 158,000 full-text electronic documents. The division allows access to the Internet, as well as the opportunity to create, edit, scan and print documents.

The total fund of the division is over 100 thousand files. A sector of rare books and a reserve fund, which has 62,000 items, have been formed out of the general fund. The Fund of RSREU History should also be mentioned. It has about 6 thousand items. The Division performs internal work with funds, implements measures to preserve publications, and distributes literature according to requirements to reading halls and library loans. The annual book loan is over 20,000 copies.

The main task of the department is reference and information service for library readers and consumers of information. Every year, more than 12,000 references of various directions are made for readers and consumers of information: thematic, address-bibliographic and factographic. At the request of the University Departments and Faculties, bibliographic indexes and lists of references are compiled. The bulletin “New accessions at the Scientific Library of the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University” is posted monthly on the library website. Also, the employees of the Department conduct classes on the discipline “Introduction to professional activity” for first-year students. There are analytical catalogues of scientific journals. The electronic card file of articles, which has more than 53,000 entries, is being replenished and edited. Fund of reference and bibliographic publications has about 20,000 documents. The Department includes a hall of catalogs and classified files (office 303 of the laboratory building).

Fund Accounting Sector

During the year, together with the university departments and library divisions, all information about the publication of educational and scientific books of the university is being elaborated. More than 12,000 documents are received by the library every year; a subscription is made to periodicals: over 120 magazines and newspapers. Orders for new literature and subscription of periodicals are issued strictly at the request of the departments.

Sector of Cataloging and Systematization of Documents

Every year it compiles a bibliographic description and systematizes over 600 titles of new documents entering the library according to the UDC and LBC tables.

Sector of Technical Processing of Documents

Every year it carries out technical processing of about 12,000 copies of new books.
